Gaia Online is a virtual hangout with; many minigames, places to chat, and virtual avatars that are constantly being upgraded. Gaia is for the most part, anime-based, so if you don’t like the "cute" avatars and games you may as well find something else.

Gaia is child friendly and provides a nice, fun, social environment suitable for ages 13+. It has several contests that users can participate in such as poetry and art, and even if you have spent a lot of time working on your profile page you may get awarded for that as well.

Gaia Online Gold also allows parents to see exactly what is going on in the site by having a page that explains what everything in the site is about. Of course the parents can also make their own account if they so wish, which Im sure many have and enjoy the game themselves...
